"Delta chiama Delta" Association

The "Delta chiama Delta" Association (*PDF, Italian text - 10Kb), founded on September 6th, 2002, on the initiative of Parco Delta del Po dell’Emilia-Romagna, represents the first international network of Ramsar Sites.
Its statute (*PDF, Italian text - 120Kb), supported by the Ramsar Bureau, has been signed by the Brière Regional Nature Park (France), the Po Delta Park of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Authority of the Po Delta Park of the Veneto region, the Danube Delta Biosphere Authority (Rumania), and by the Ebro Delta Nature Park (Spain).
The Association was founded in order to promote the protection and the enhancement of coastal and delta areas at an international level, through common projects and regular occasions of meeting and exchange, such as “Ramsar Cop 8 – Conference of the Contracting Parties” held in Valencia, “Mediterre” the 1st Mediterranean Park Fair organised by Federparchi in Bari, “MedCoast” International Workshop held in Ravenna; in the framework of the MedCoast 2003 edition, a meeting on “Cambiamenti Climatici e impatti prevedibili nei delta: una nuova sfida per la conservazione delle aree protette” (Climatic Changes and Predictable Impacts on Delta Areas: a New Challenge Protected Areas Conservation) was held in Comacchio. On this occasion, the “Delta chiama Delta” Association officially presented the "Comacchio Charter" (*PDF, Italian text - 20Kb), approved by its own Board of Directors.
