Sito Unesco Patrimonio dell’Umanità “Ferrara, città del Rinascimento e il suo Delta del Po”

Parco del Delta del Po has been included in the Unesco World Heritage List.

The Park has been included in the list during the session of the relevant Committee which took place in Marrakech (Morocco) on December 2, 1999; The new site has been renamed "Ferrara, città del Rinascimento, e il suo delta del Po" (Ferrara, City of Renaissance, and the Po Delta) as it represents an integration of the site dedicated to the city, which is already part of the List in 1995.

The map shows the size of the whole Province of Ferrara and the area of the site which is registered in the World Heritage Sites and called "Ferrara, città del Rinascimento, e il suo delta del Po". It develops on most of the provincial territory and includes, the city of Ferrara, provincial capital with typical Renaissance urban structure, and also the wide plains along the branches of the Po down to the Delta, dotted with the residences of the Dukes and the reclaimed swamps nearby, that are part of a unique cultural and natural landscape. The green coloured areas are part of the World Heritage, the yellow areas are the so-called buffer areas that surround the world heritage areas.
