Delta chiama Delta

The Association "Delta chiama Delta" (*PDF - 10Kb), established on September 6, 2002 following an initiative of the Emilia Romagna Po Delta Park represents the first Ramsar areas international network.
The Articles of Association (*PDF - 120Kb), the Association is under the patronage of the Ramsar Bureau, and its members include the Regional Park of Brière (France), the Emilia Romagna Po Delta Park, the Veneto Po Delta Park Regional Authority, the Danube Biosphere Reserve (Romania) and the Natural Park of the Ebro Delta (Spain).
The Association was born to promote protection and valorisation of coastal and river delta areas at international level via shared projects and permanent meeting and discussion events like “Ramsar Cop 8 – Conference of the Contracties Parties” (that took place in Valencia),“Mediterre” the 1st Mediterranean Parks Fair (Bari, organised by Federparchi), “MedCoast” (international workshop in Ravenna); as part of the 2003 edition of this fair in Comacchio took place the meeting “Cambiamenti Climatici e impatti prevedibili nei delta: una nuova sfida per la conservazione delle aree protette” (Climate changes and expectable impacts in the Deltas: a new challenge for the preservation of protected areas). During this event the Delta chiama Delta association presented the Carta di Comacchio ("Comacchio Charter" *PDF - 20Kb), approved by the Executive Committee.
